Hello followers! So you’ve all probably been wondering, where on earth has Cynthia gone? Has she given up on art and decided to join the circus? Has she been so engrossed with her art to the point of total isolation from the rest of the world? It’s mostly the latter, well almost…
You see, I have some super terrific amazing news! I have been diligently working the last few months on a very exciting new project. Yours truly will be showcasing artwork in a group exhibit entitled, Director’s Cut at the Dream Factory Pop Art Gallery!!! This exhibit will display my paintings of various film scenes that question the roles of women in society. Each painting portrays women from cinema and evokes some sort of emotion that invites the viewer to ask themselves questions about how they perceive and perhaps identify with these women. I had fun searching for these movie “snapshots” that through the process of examining and painting brought up questions of identity, escapism, envy and mistaken belief.
The show runs for one month starting from July 15th . I would love it if you could attend and share your thoughts about my artwork with me. This has been such an eye-opening and emotional journey for me and I can’t wait to share it with you all!
By the way, here is a sneak-peak of one of my leading ladies. Don’t forget to check out my Instagram (@cynthiakatzfineart) to get a taste of what’s to come!

2016 is here! After much holiday celebrating with family in the U.S. I was excited to come home to some great news to kick off the new year with. My friends at Frankfurt’s Mellow Yellow Café were kind enough as to offer me a chance to show some art in their lovely café. You can now go see some of my paintings currently there on display until the end of February. If you haven’t been there yet and you live in Frankfurt you should definitely plan a visit soon. Mellow Yellow serves the most delicious cakes, cookies and other goodies (the Börek are my favorite) which you can enjoy in an inviting atmosphere. Whatever you order, it’s sure to be super tasty and the best part is that you will always be served with a smile. Escape the cold weather, stop in for a coffee served up by the owner, Belgin and enjoy the view offered by my “film scene” paintings and the Bethmannpark across the street. You can visit their Facebook page here and their Instagram here.
Lets not forget Valentines Day
I’ve also been busy creating some printable Valentine cards to help celebrate the upcoming holiday. Creating them took me back to my grammar school days when we would make little mailboxes for receiving valentines and set them on our desks. Back then, I would love filling and passing out out my valentines to all my classmates and then seeing which ones I received from them. If you want some cute Valentines you can print and cut out with your kiddies you’ll find these in my Etsy shop, CynthiaKatzDesign. They make a great craft to do together with your children or maybe you just like the idea of a more handmade sort of card to give to your sweetie.
Wishing you a happy Valentines day with your friends, family and loved ones <3.
